Sam Quek announces second pregnancy months after first child’s arrival

Sporting sensation Sam Quek and husband Tom Mairs have shared the exciting news that they are expecting a second baby

Sam Quek is pregnant with her second child.

The Olympian is 17 weeks pregnant and the happy news of her and husband Tom Mairs’ new addition comes seven months after they welcomed their daughter, Molly, in March.

Sam’s due date is two weeks after Molly turns one on March 2 next year.

Opening up on the exciting life update, the Question Of Sport star told OK! magazine : “It’s come along quite quickly, so we were pleasantly surprised!”

The couple shared that they know it may be tricky having two children under the age of two but they are hopeful that their new tot is “chilled” like daughter Molly.

Opening up on if the pair were trying for a sibling for Molly, hockey player Sam told the glossy magazine: “It was a surprise but we didn’t stop it happening if that makes sense. We did discuss after Molly that we’d like kids close together and what close together meant. My close together was 18 months and I wanted to start trying after Christmas. But Tom’s close together was to start trying after my six-week check!”

In March, Sam and Tom took to social media to share their baby joy after welcoming their precious daughter Molly.

They had announced they were expecting back in November, 11 months after Sam suffered from a heartbreaking miscarriage.

After a year of trying, Sam fell pregnant at the start of 2020 but just five weeks later lost the baby.

Speaking about the devastation, she previously said: “I didn’t want to speak to anyone. I had guilt and shame that it was my fault,” she recalled. “I was looking back at everything I did during pregnancy and replaying every single minute. I put it all on me and my body. But I never said that to Tom at the time.”
