Paddy Moloney, who founded legendary Irish music band The Chieftains in 1962, has passed away aged 83 with Irish President Michael D Higgins leading the tributes.

Born in 1938, Paddy was born in 1938 in north County Dublin and was brought up in a family with a love of music.
