My nickname is… Stage. My grandma used to call me it because she thought I belonged on stage.

My idea of a perfect evening would be… ordering in Chinese or Thai food and eating it in front of the television, which is very naughty. I’d sit on the rug and watch a series or a movie with my family.

The thing that cheers me up is… my dog, Sophia. She makes everything better. She doesn’t know what’s going on in life so if I’m not feeling good my attention is immediately drawn to this animal who just wants you to play, cuddle or go for a walk with them. Dogs allow you to get out of your own head.

The bravest thing I’ve ever done… People would consider things that I’ve done as brave, but I just look at it as, “What else am I going to do?” Double mastectomy, Crohn’s disease, heart surgery, neck surgery, I can go through my medical history, which people think makes me brave, but I think that’s just survival.

One thing I’d change about myself is… I’d love to be taller, then I wouldn’t have to wear heels. I’d also love to have green, blueish eyes. I also don’t like my freckles – I think I have as many freckles as there are stars in the sky.

The best thing my parents taught me is… not to judge people by the way they look. My mum taught me that from her Catholic upbringing and being around segregation. And she also said don’t marry for money; now she insists she didn’t say that and tells me, “We could be sitting on yachts right now!”.

My greatest weakness is… children. I want to protect them at all times, I want to make them happy and feel loved – I just think they are wonderful. I never had children but that doesn’t mean I didn’t want them, and nor is it a regret.

The worst job I’ve ever had was… a receptionist at a facial and massage clinic. My voice carried as I greeted clients and I didn’t realise I was a bit too jolly. I was fired because I was too loud. It’s not that people were upset, but it was a quiet environment.

The people who inspire me are… my brother and sister. My brother is autistic and has brought so much joy to our family. He encourages us to be better people. He’s growing older but mentally he’s eight. I look up to him so much as he constantly has us laughing.
