Charlie works in the events industry and has been dating Becky for almost six years, though has managed to remain out of the spotlight despite Becky topping the charts.

Becky has recently identified as neither heterosexual or gender binary but after declaring herself as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, she said that she faced awkward questions during an interview in Poland about her saying that she is “queer”.

The singer told MailOnline at Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball: “One of the things that I found especially difficult is talking about my queerness in different countries.

“I recently went to Poland and I was asked about being queer in an interview and what it meant considering I had a boyfriend who was in a heterosexual relationship.

“i answered it very honestly – as I would always answer any question I get asked.”

Becky continued: “But it’s difficult when attitudes in certain areas of the world haven’t been brought up to the same date as us.

“Everybody’s got to come into the 21st century, everybody’s got to get used to the idea that queer people are here and not going anywhere.’

“Hopefully people will start to love the queer community as much as I do.”

Becky also spoke about this to Attitude, as she came to terms with being accepted: “I felt a bit like an imposter because I’ve had a boyfriend for five and a half years… I feel much better now I am under the queer umbrella.

“I also think it’s important for women to own their queerness, instead of over-sexualising their desire for other women for the sake of straight men.

“I know I enjoy sleeping with women, to what degree of that I don’t know, but I’d rather call myself queer and name it for what it is, than have men fantasise over the idea that I might be bi-curious or like a cheeky threesome here and there.”
