Il Divo star Carlos Marín died from Covid-19 at the age of 53 and famous faces from around the globe took to social media to send messages of condolence

The singer’s death was announced on Sunday after he fell ill on December 8 with Covid-19.
His bandmates broke the devastating news on Twitter, writing: “It is with heavy hearts that we are letting you know that our friend and partner, Carlos Marin, has passed away.
“He will be missed by his friends, family and fans. There will never be another voice or spirit like Carlos.
“For 17 years the four of us have been on this incredible journey of Il Divo together, and we will miss our dear friend.
“We hope and pray that his beautiful soul will rest in peace. With Love — David, Sebastien and Urs.”
Following the tragic announcement, famous faces took to social media to share their condolences with fellow musical band Collabro penning their sorrow.
The band’s official Twitter page wrote: “We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Carlos Marín. His voice and stage presence were spectacular and he was as brilliant off stage as he was whilst performing. Sending love to @ildivoofficial during this very difficult time.”
Rhydian Roberts, who starred on the X Factor in series four, penned: “Heartbreaking. I’m so sorry to hear this news. Carlos oozed charisma and had a velvety smooth baritone. Sending condolences to his family and the rest of Il Divo @ildivoofficial.”
Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno Tonioli also shared a heartfelt message, writing: “Devastated @ildivoofficial @carlosmarin_ passed away. We had the best time putting together the first @ildivoofficial performance 17 yeas[sic] ago great voice great man a true passionate Spirit with wicked sense of humor. We will miss you so sad. B.”
Lorraine Kelly also shared a message on the social media platform, writing: “This is so sad. I had the joy of interviewing Carlos and @ildivoofficial many times over the years. He was such a class act. Thoughts with everyone who loved him x”
And Uri Gellar also penned a message and shared a pic of the pair together. He wrote: “Shocking! Carlos Marin Superstar of IL Divo passed away from COVID, ironically we were performing together in Wuhan where this murederous [sic] monster virus was manufactured. RIP Carlos. he was only 53.”
Sadly, Carlos passed away after his life-support was turned off just days after he was put into a medically induced coma in Manchester.
He is said to have been been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, but fell ill with the respiratory virus on December 7.
