Danny Dyer says his wife resents him for his acting fame

Danny Dyer has complained that his wife is “f***ing hard work” when it comes to finding her the perfect gift for Christmas.

The EastEnders actor, 44, confessed that he found it frustrating buying Joanne Mas – who he wed in 2016 – presents that she would inevitably return.

Appearing on his joint podcast – Sorted With The Dyers – with daughter Dani, 25, he voiced his frustration over his bills during the festive period.

He said: “Some of the bills we get after Christmas…f***ing Jesus Christ.

“But that’s what it’s about.”

“You do have to buy mummy presents even though she takes most of them back,” Dani pointed.

Sighing, Danny retorted: “Yeah, she’s f***ing hard work.”

In the podcast, the pair also opened up about their experiences raising children after Dani gave birth to son Santiago in January.

Speaking to her dad, the Love Island winner admitted that she felt “clueless” after becoming a mum for the first time.

But Danny responded that “no one is ever ready” and went on to confess that his own father had misspelled his name on his birth certificate.

He explained: “He agreed to the name Daniel but he spelt it Danial. Could have been a mix of things, could have been that he was battered, could have been that he doesn’t spell. Could have been a bit of both actually.

“You’ve got a mad name, though, for your boy.”

But Dani defended her son’s name, saying: “I love Santiago though, I love his name. A lot of people don’t like it, but that doesn’t really bother me…”

While Danny admitted that he wasn’t convinced by his grandson’s name, he insisted that he loves it now.

“I love his name now; at first, I was a bit unsure,” he said.
