The 32-year-old’s career has gone from strength to strength in recent years and is a huge hit on the Netflix series.
And she has revealed that both of her fellow actresses had been “warm” and were a big help in her navigating some of her first on screen experiences.
Lily, who is the daughter of legendary musician Phil Collins, told Glamour Magazine that she was “proud of what my surname represents” but confessed she is enjoying treading her “own path”.
Lily starred alongside Sandra Bullock, 57, in the 2009 hit film The Blind Side. She also featured on Mirror Mirror with Julia Roberts, 54, in 2012.
When she was asked if she had any mentors in the industry, Lily said: “My first film was with Sandra Bullock, and she helped guide me through that experience.
“And we stayed in touch, and she’s just such a warm, wonderful spirit, who just really took me under her wing.
“Julia Roberts is the same way; on Mirror, Mirror she’s playing my evil queen, and yet she couldn’t have been more warm – and helping me to understand and navigate a set.”
Lily also revealed that she never wanted to change her last name while breaking into the industry, despite the associations it has with her famous father.
She continued: “When I was younger, trying to start my journey into the entertainment world, I was told by quite a few people, ‘Well, what makes you special?’
“There’s so many different siblings and family members and people out there. Why you?”
She admitted to being “incredibly proud” of her dad’s achievements and of what their surname represents, but she insisted that she was going to go on “my own path, my own journey.”
Earlier this week, Lily was spotted joking in front of a vandalised promo poster for Emily In Paris.
The star, who plays Emily Cooper in the series, posted a pic of her with a shocked face while standing in front of the advertisement on which someone had given her character a demonic makeover.
She captioned the post: ‘I can’t say I love the new look, Em. But A for effort.’
Her fans and a handful of famous faces commented on the post.
Good Witch actress Bailee Maddison wrote: “Hahahaha amazing,” while fellow Emily In Paris star Ashley Park commented: ” She’s a class act everyone.”
