Harry Styles, Billie Eilish and Kanye West have been confirmed as the headline acts for 2022 Coachella.

The world famous event, which takes place in the Southern Californian desert, announced the full lineup for this year’s festival on Wednesday.

It is set to make it’s comeback over two weekends – April 15-17 and April 22-24 – after having experienced multiple delays and cancellations due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Watermelon Sugar singer and former One Direction star Harry, 27, is set to headline both Fridays, with the Saturday slots to be filled by Bad Guy singer Billie, 20.

The Sunday slot is to be filled by Gold Digger singer Kanye, 44.

Elsewhere on the Friday lineup, fans will be able to watch performances by Lil Baby, Phoebe Bridgers, slowthai and Bristol-based punk rockers IDLES.

The Saturday shows will see the likes of Flume, 21 Savage and WAP singer Megan Thee Stallion take to the stage, as well as award-winning London musician Arlo Parks.

Joining Kanye, who is now legally known as Ye, on Sunday is Doja Cat, Jamie XX, Run The Jewels and Fat Boy Slim.

Electronic supergroup Swedish House Mafia were also announced to be returning to the desert.

Organisers revealed that the first weekend of the festival had already sold out, with presale tickets for the second weekend set to be available from Friday at 6pm.

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival takes place in the Indio desert near Palm Springs and attracted about 250,000 attendees in 2019.

The 2020 event was scheduled for April of that year before being pushed to October because of the global pandemic.

It was then moved to April 2021 before again being cancelled due to the health crisis.

The cancelled Coachella had been set to be headlined by Travis Scott, Frank Ocean and political rap-metal band Rage Against The Machine.

At the time of cancellation, the public health officer for Riverside County, Dr Cameron Kaiser, explained the reasoning behind cancelling the 2021 festivals.

He said in a public health order: “If Covid-19 were detected at these festivals, the scope and number of attendees and the nature of the venue would make it infeasible, if not impossible, to track those who may be placed at risk.”

Dr Kaiser added: “We look forward to when the events may return.”

Breaking the news of the new lineups for this year’s festival, the official Twitter account tweeted a poster for the event and wrote: “YAY.”
