Katie Price will apparently learn just how much her ‘Mucky Mansion’ has depreciated in value in her new Channel 4 show.

The former glamour has reportedly lost £1million on her infamous property, thanks to a spate of burglaries and falling into into disrepair.

Katie, 43, purchased the once-lavish abode from former Cabinet Office Minister Francis Maude in 2014 for £2m, but a combination of things has seen the star’s West Sussex home plummet in value.

The mum-of-five – who announced the start date for her new series about the iconic Mucky Mansion earlier this week – is said to be horrified to learn the property is now worth less than what she purchased it for back in 2014.

“Katie knew it was in a bad state, but when she found out it’s now worth less than a million – half it’s original value – while filming the new show, it was a real shock,” a source from the star’s new Channel 4 show has told The Sun.

“She’s going to do everything she can to get it back to it’s former glory and make it worth something again. It’s a real disaster for her.”

Katie purchased what is now known as the Mucky Mansion at the peak of her success in 2014 but years of neglect, floods and cash flow problems have seen it fall into disarray – with the reality TV star at one point moving into rented accommodation.

Alongside setbacks in her personal life, the media personality has also had multiple issues with her property – the most recent being when firefighters were called out when it caught fire in September 2020.

The accident came after the once stunning West Sussex home had already begun to be plagued with problems like a broken cesspit, a rotting swimming pool, security issues and mucky pets – as well as being targeted by cruel thieves.

Speaking on her YouTube channel last year, Katie also explained how fly tippers had dumped junk on the grounds of her family home.

Katie’s cherished property was once worth a lot more prior to her string of bad luck

“This is my house that I don’t live in at the moment because of all the fly tipping that was done,” the star told her fans in the footage.

“Everything was stolen, it was burgled twice in a row and my ceiling has collapsed where they left the tap on.”

She distressed star added: “I hate it, I just hate it. It looks ransacked.

“I can’t live in a place like this, this is what someone did to my house deliberately. It’s so disheartening that it’s like this.”

The Mucky Mansion needs a lot of work doing to it

Earlier this week, the plucky model excitedly announced the start date for her brand new Channel 4 series set to feature her infamous house.

“It’s official! #MuckyMansion series one will be broadcasting on Channel 4 in just two weeks time!” Katie told her Facebook fans on Wednesday.

“Save the date and make sure you tune in to see my crafty creations. 26th Jan at 9pm!”
