Lauren Goodger talks about life with a newborn

Lauren Goodger has opened up to tell her turbulent time after a terrifying Sepsis scare with her newborn baby and how her relationship with Charles Drury hit the rocks.

The former TOWIE star, 35, who is first-time mum to baby Larose, experienced every parents worst nightmare after her daughter was struck down by a high fever and showed signs of dehydration.

Lauren desperately tried four times over several hours to speak to a doctor via NHS 111 before finally being told to go to A&E where Larose was admitted.

Amid the stress of the health scare, Lauren briefly split from partner Charles but has now lifted the lid on their rocky patch after getting back together.

“Listen, moving house and having a baby are very stressful things. Having a baby, as well as it being a beautiful and amazing thing, really does test couples. For Charlie, it’s a lot of change and I think he was quite overwhelmed with everything. As much as he loves me and Larose, he had to take five minutes out,” Lauren told OK! magazine.

“He came home and wants his family. I’m grateful that maybe that little space and break needed to happen, because some couples aren’t strong enough – they break up and that’s it. It’s very common. I had so many DMs saying, “Hats off to you, my partner’s just left me.” I want it to work for Larose. It wasn’t a bitter split. He was in contact a lot because of Larose,” she explained.

Discussing her baby’s terrifying decline in health, Lauren said she found Larose ‘white as ghost’ and was concerned that she had a temperature and was really dehydrated.

The reality TV star, watched helplessly as medics treated her baby, inserting a cannula into her daughter’s arm for mediation which she found deeply distressing to witness.

She explained: “My baby was looking at me and I’d never seen a look on her face like it. I was crying going, “Please, what is wrong with her?”

But after pressing for answers she was told the tot had Sepsis – a life-threatening condition where the bodies immune system over reacts to an infection and starts attacking organs and tissue.

Fortunately blood tests revealed Larose wasn’t suffering from Sepsis but instead had a fever from an infection and was given antibiotics.

She told the publication: “I was like, “Phew!” She was on antibiotics and a drip. By the second and third day, she was more herself.”

At the time of the health scare, Lauren and Charles had split as he was feeling ”overwhelmed” but after three weeks apart they are back together and trying to make things work.

She told how becoming parents and having a house move had put strain on their relationship and he took ”five minutes out” before moving back home to be a family.

And speaking of plans for the future the model plans to get her fitness back in the New Year and wouldn’t rule out a TOWIE guest appearance if it was without the drama.

Lauren and builder Charles went public with their relationship in October 2020, and reportedly just three weeks later she’d moved him into her Essex home.
