Mohamed Salah’s agent has stoked the fire surrounding the Liverpool superstar’s contract saga with a cryptic message on social media.
The Egyptian, whose current deal with the Reds expires at the end of next season, is yet to sign a new contract at Anfield.
He has been in superb form this season, with many stating that he’s currently the best player in the world, having scored 19 goals and provided ten assists in the Premier League.
“We cannot do much more, that’s how it is,” he said.
“I don’t think it’s about that. It’s Mo’s decision. The club can only do what the club can do. That’s how it is.
“I’ve got nothing bad to say about it, it’s all fine from my point of view. It’s exactly like it should be in this moment.
“Everything is set. Nothing has happened further, so no signing, no rejection, or whatever.
“So, yeah, we just have to wait, it’s completely fine. There’s no rush in that situation.”
But Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, posted a conveniently timed tweet after Klopp’s comments.
A series of laughing emojis were all that were tweeted from Issa’s account, without any context, leaving many guessing what they were referring to.
Reds fans won’t be too pleased if the tweet was aimed at Klopp after his update on Salah’s contract negotiations, with many desperate for the 29-year-old to secure his long-term future at the club.
