Simon Cowell, 62, recently bent the knee and asked Lauren Silverman to become his wife.
Reports claim that the music mogul finally took the plunge to propose as he and Lauren holidayed in Barbados.
X-Factor boss Simon reportedly “stunned” Lauren, 44, by popping the question and that the mother of his son, Eric, said yes without a moment’s thought.
An insider told The Sun: “Simon and Lauren are ridiculously, nauseatingly in love – incredibly, lockdown brought them closer than ever.
“Lauren was absolutely stunned and never in a million years expected Simon to pop the question. She burst into tears – happy tears – and obviously said ‘yes’ straight away.
The source added that smitten Lauren has been his “rock” – after he broke his back in 2020 – and that the former lothario knew he had to “put a ring on it” as Lauren is the “woman of his dreams.”
Lauren and Simon’s love story started while she was still married to her ex – and his close friend – Andrew Silverman.
Things moved fast between them with her divorcing Andrew shortly before having Simon’s first child, Eric.
Since Simon welcomed Eric with Lauren they have been inseparable and she managed to put an end to his famous bachelor antics.
However, the wealthy household name always said he did not want to tie the knot – until now, that seems.
In the past, Simon famously swerved questions about when he might marry Lauren, once joking, “Gulp!” when questioned by one interviewer.
To another, he has said: “I don’t believe in marriage, not in this business.”
For years, it has been rumoured that Simon has an expensive engagement ring locked in his safe and Lauren had her eye on the rock.
One insider previously told the Daily Mail: “He’s never given the ring to her and never proposed. Getting married is an obsession of hers, that is her goal in the relationship – but he will not do it.”
